Wizz-Kidz is UK based charity that aims to help disabled children by providing wheelchairs to those who have been unable to get an appropriate chair via the NHS. They look at all sorts of chairs including powered and lightweight unpowered, buggies, and trikes and they will work with all disabled children under 18. Their website lists and details over 36 types of chair that they work with and they have a number of other more specialised ones available.
The Wizz Kidz website is well designed and a good resource in its own right – the list of paediatric wheelchairs is particularly interesting and they have even written iPhone and Android apps that summarise the information available well.
The charity also does a number of other things including Ambassador social clubs, organizing work placements, a wheelchair training scheme, residential camps that include life skills and and wheelchair training and a young leaders program.
