Samsung has revealed that it will release the successor to the S4 by April and to no surprise it will be called the Samsung Galaxy S5. The interview, given to Bloomberg gave a few other details, but nothing that is a particular shock.
Sales of the S4 have slowed since the iPhone 5s was launched and Samsung are putting that down to the Apples fingerprint recognition technology. As a response Samsung are therefore looking to add an eye scanner to the S5 to increase its security credentials.
Samsung also stated they will be releasing a successor to the Galaxy Gear smartwatch, which launched last year but has been widely regarded as a failure. The new Gear will have “more advanced functions, and the bulky design will also be improved”.
