The organic Bamboo Pillow for Side sleepers is a high quality, durable product. It’s 42×64 cm and has 7cm gussets that stops it from slumping down and it provides excellent neck support for side sleepers and we experienced the additional benefit of less snoring. The filling is 100% microfiber. It is a firm pillow, not the type to sink your head into, but it isn’t a solid rock either.
The casing is made with a blend of organically grown bamboo and cotton. Both cotton and bamboo are good choices for anyone with asthma or a dust mite allergy and the fabric is breathable and absorbs moisture so that hot sleepers do not wake up in a puddle of sweat.
Supportive and sturdy, soft without giving way and also looks beautiful and inviting on a perfectly made bed.
Included in the box: microfiber pillow with organic cotton/bamboo casing in a reusable bag.
The Ergohacks Evaluation
It is a specialist product that is not particularly versatile in use – it’s made for adult side sleepers who prefer firm support. It is a bit too high for young children and although it’s fine for other sleeping positions for shorter intervals, it is made for those who primarily sleep on one side.
It is excellent pillow that have been thoughtfully designed and well made. It doesn’t require much effort to use or maintain and is accessible to most adults.
Environment & People
The Bamboo Pillow for Side sleepers is made with a microfiber filling, organic bamboo and cotton grown sustainably. It is a durable product that I think will last at least a year or two and is manufactured by Homescapes that operate an ethical business and make use of some sustainable sourced materials.
The filling is polyester, not a perfect environmental choice because it is resource intensive to manufacture and made from petrochemicals. Polyester is very durable, however microfiber pillows should be replaced every 1-2 years and many natural fibres will outlast a microfiber filling.
It’s price tag is currently £23 on Amazon. Pillows have a wide price range depending on quality and brand. Specialist pillows are usually at least twice the price, whilst budget options are less than a quarter. The microfiber filling is probably what helps keep the price tag down – polyester is a cheaper filling than natural fibers like wool. It is a high quality pillow made from high quality materials and the price is more than fair.

Homescapes’ Bamboo Pillow for Side sleepers is a good choice for side-sleepers and comes with extra benefits beyond being super comfortable. The organic casing is luxuriously soft, breathable and moisture absorbing and the microfiber filling is of a high quality. It has a Oeko-Text Standard 100 certification ensuring no harmful substances were used in its manufacture at any point.
After three months’ daily use, it still looks and feels the same as when it came out of the box. Recommended for anyone with a dust mite allergy, asthma or who cares about indoor air quality, as well as those who experience neck pain or snoring.
