The annual Eurogamer Expo is kicking off today in Earls Court in London and is due to run for the next for days.  The event, which is easily the largest annual gaming show in the UK, runs from 11am (10am for Early ticket holder and 2pm for afternoon ticket holders) until 7pm.  Unfortunately the show is sold out so if you don’t already have a ticket you won’t be able to go – although the Dev Sessions will be online.

So what will be there?

The main show floor will be an area filled with pre-release games and hardware which will for the most part be playable.  Some of the notables  will include Xbox One and PS4, Occulus Rift and NVIDIA Shield, Call Of Duty:Ghosts, Project Spark, The Elder Scrolls Online, The Sims 4 and Titanfall.  A full list can be found here.

A GamesIndustry Fair will take place next to the Expo Today and tomorrow and will showcase:

a range of careers, education and industry events, exhibition areas, panel discussions and networking opportunities that give everyone the chance to get closer to the games industry and see how these big blockbuster titles are made.At the GamesIndustry Fair, Careers and Eduction are a cornerstone of the event and you’ll have the chance to meet game developers, publishers and educators that can give you the advice you need to make games development your career.

A Retro Arcade.  The Retro arcade has been running the last 3 years at the Expo and will feature retro consoles and titles from the Atari 2600 to the PS2 and a selection inbetween.

One of the potentially interesting sides to the Expo are the Developer sessions.  These are relatively small sessions talking to panels and individual developers about their games, experiences and business and can well worth a watch.  The full timetable is here and notably includes the XBox one, Beyond Two Souls and many more. Last years Developers sessions made it on to Youtube both live streamed and here  and even if you are not able to attend this weeks Expo they should be available streamed live here.

Cosplay has also evolved into being a part of the Expo and this year its being made an official part of the program by adding a dedicated stage and prizes for the best costumes.  Check out the video below for last years highlights.

We’ll be at the Expo so follow us on Twitter at @liliellis and @chrisgellis and watch the site for posts about what we see.
