Ether One is the first game from Manchester based studios, White Paper Games and catches our eye both because of the content and style. It is a first-person adventure game that has you play a ‘Restorer’ who is sent into the minds of the mentally ill to restructure and fix their broken memories.
Your character becomes lost in a mysterious client’s mind and has to pick apart and recover who he is from his clues in her mind. Stylistically the the game looks interesting, almost a cartoon cyberpunk. The devs are also promising Oculus Rift support and have been thinking about adding Hydra Razer support.
“In the mid-20th Century, advances in HUMAN TELEKINETIC PROJECTION allowed cases of memory loss and mental illness to be cured.
The select few who possessed this gift could gain direct access to broken memories where they could be RESTRUCTURED
These gifted individuals were named RESTORERS
What the MIND thinks, The HEART transmits.
The game is due for release in the second quarter of 2013 on PC and Mac and should be available as a playable demo at Rezzed in a couple of weeks.
