Ergohack's Best Budget Choice
Premium products often come with a premium price tag. Durable, ethical, sustainably made items cost more to make. We're happy to invest in quality. Often, a quality product that will last a decade (or a lifetime) works out cheaper than a short-lived budget option. Products with long lifespans also produce less waste and even when not made in an ecological way, makes a smaller negative impact on the planet. As a result, the vast majority of products we recommend and applaud are not budget items.
However, sometimes, a budget item is just what you need. Sometimes, a premium product is just complete overkill. Sometimes, you just cannot afford to spend hundreds when a stop-gap fix can be picked up for a fraction of the cost. This is where our budget recommendations come in.
We recommend picking up a budget option first when you embark on a new venture. Buy a budget drone first and if you love it, upgrade. Buy a budget camera or a lens for your camera phone first and when you decide photography really is your thing, pick up a decent camera. Buy a budget DSLR first and if it works out well, trade it in and upgrade. For this strategy to work, you need a sturdy budget option - no point buying a cheap drone that never works properly or a camera that isn't a pleasure to use - it'll put you off for life. Test small, but test well.
These are our budget choices either as a good entry product to a new experience or for casual users who don't want to sink a lot of money into an occasional thing.

Winter in southern England may have some cold snaps, but for the most part, it’s fairly mild. Spend a day outdoors though and the single digit temperatures do creep closer to the skin. I picked up Regatta Kids Hot Shot II as a mid-layer and it’s worked out beautifully.
It’s thin, soft and comfortable over a T-shirt, doesn’t bulk up under a thick winter coat and it’s just right for wear indoors. Cass usually favours chunky jumpers, but underneath her winter coat, this is the new favourite.Read More
