Hand sanitizer is an extremely useful product in a pinch. I think clean hands are very important, particularly when surrounded by pets and young children and soap and water is not always on hand. Enter the increasingly popular hand gels and foams in travel size containers in many shapes, fragrances and sizes, some with added moisturizer as we all know rubbing alcohol leads to dry skin.

I immediately started looking for a healthier alternative and have found Bentley’s Organic hand sanitizer to be a great alternative. I struggle to write about it without sounding like an advert. It leaves my hands clean but residue-free. Eating a sandwich after using the sanitizer no longer makes my sandwich tastes like alcohol. It doesn’t smell, better yet, it doesn’t make my hands smell and it’s paraben free. Also, it’s mainly organic (93%) and it works.

Bentley’s hand sanitizer has been tested and proven to kill 99.9% of harmful viruses and bacteria including Swine Flu, H1N1, E Coli, Salmonella and Listeria.

About Bentley Organic

“Bentley Organic was launched in the UK in 2006, starting with a small range of organic soap products…Our mission is to provide affordable alternatives to premium priced uncertified competitors, making organic lifestyle choices accessible to a wider market… Bentley Organic is a subsidiary of Thos. Bentley & Son Ltd that was established in the 1800’s making soap for the textile industry.” Read more on their About page.

Bentley’s organic hand sanitizer is supplied as a liquid in a 50ml plastic travel bottle with a nozzle that turns the liquid into a foam when sprayed. It has a clear plastic cap that is leak proof. The cap pulls off, I twisted it which unscrewed the nozzle and that did cause significant leakage through the cap into my bag. As long as the nozzle remains screwed on, I found it perfectly safe to carry on its side without any issue.

Bentley’s organic hand sanitizer is more expensive than standard alcohol-based hand gels, but we consider it money well spent for a certified and tested organic product that is gentle on your skin as well as ecologically sound. It’s performance is excellent and at 3p per use, it doesn’t exactly break the bank.
